May 8	Work-At-Home Mom's Mother's Day Wish List Laura Spencer May 8, 2008 What do work-at-home moms want for mother's day? I'm not sure that I can speak for all work-at-home moms, but I can think of a few things that I'd like: Stuff around the house getting done without me asking or anybody complaining. A "grownup" conversation with my darling husband with no interruptions from the kids asking for us to take them somewhere or for money. The chance to spend some of my hard-earned money on something that I want. A day with no responsibilities. In terms of gifts that can be bought, I love books. I'd like a new digital camera. May 7	Self Employment On The Rise in Non-Urban Environments Laura Spencer May 7, 2008 According to a recent article from The New York Times, the number of self-employed persons located away from urban areas has increased by 240% over the past forty years. The same article goes on to say, "if the current trend continues, one in three rural workers will be self-employed by 2015." The New York Times piece didn't specify which country the study applied to, but I'm assuming that it's talking about the U.S. since The New York Times is a U.S. newspaper. Apr25	How Will the Economic Stimulus Package Affect You? Laura Spencer April 25, 2008 I blogged about the Economic Stimulus packager earlier this year, but now it appears that the stimulus rebate checks are on their way for many taxpayers. Over at SavvySugar, they have published an updated schedule of when you can expect your payment. For some, that payment could arrive as early as Monday, April 28th! To tell you the truth, I'm not sure exactly how the economic stimulus will impact most home businesses. I know that there are a lot of work-at-home folks in the Twitter community, so I decided to use my Twitter account to conduct an informal poll.
