Jet Blue Work From Home Agent Tells All!

Well maybe not all but some!

Kim works for JetBlue Airways Corp. (JBLU) out of her home as a customer service agent. She lives in SLC and has this to say about her work from home experience.

Tell us some pros and cons about your job and how you found out about it.

"I love that I don't have to commute or get dressed up. I can work in my jammies if I want to. The downside can be that it sometimes gets lonely. I heard about the job from a friend of mine who used to work for JetBlue and other than a high school diploma, minimal typing skills, a little customer service and of course the ability to pass a background check I didn't need any special skills, training or experience."

Tell us how you are evaluated.

"I am monitored on several random calls through out each month. There are several things that they look for, like opening and closing the call with the company name, JetBlue, giving correct fare quotes with taxes and fees included, asking for the sale, offering "TrueBlue" offering JetBlue American Express, and of course just making sure you are giving the best customer service. They also track how much time you are off the phones. If your time off gets too high you can loose the opportunity to work at home. You would then have to work at the main center for your shifts."

What are some of the perks or benefits with working for JetBlue?

"JetBlue Airways has been in business now for almost 7 years. The biggest perk for me is working from home. I also get to fly for free, as well as my kids and parents. I am given 8 buddy passes per year (2 round trip per quarter) for any other family or friends that I want to give them to. They offer a 401K and employee stock purchase program besides medical/dental/vision insurance. There is lots of room for advancement and I know I can move my way into other departments as well."

How long have you worked for JetBlue and would you consider this a long-term career?

"I just had my 4 year anniversary with JetBlue last week. I can see myself long-term with JetBlue but not as an at-home agent. I would need to move into other departments and work at the main center. I feel I have as much opportunity for advancement and raises as I would for a regular 9 to 5 job."
