On Friday, May 2nd, Myanmar (a small country bordered on the right by Thailand) was struck by colossal winds and waves. Thousands of homes were destroyed. Thousands of lives were lost.
The destruction was the work of Cyclone Nargis, the most devastating storm to strike the tiny country in years.
Even now, the nations are rushing to help the tiny country. (You can read more about the relief effort in this article at CNN.com.)
I can't even imagine what it would be like to be caught up in a disaster of this magnitude. Where do you start to repair such devastation?
As individuals and as small business owners, there is no need to set idly by. We can step up to help. Here are just a few organizations with more information (from CNN.Com): ![]()
Note: Nearly every relief organization had warnings posted about fraudulent e-mails that ask for contributions to the Myanmar relief effort, but are not sent from a legitimate aid organization. If you wish to help, then make sure that you are dealing with a reputable organization.
What about you? Will you take steps to help?
