More than ever, home business owners are struggling with overwork. When your office is just a few doors away from your bedroom it's easy to get too caught up in your work and not even realize it.
That's what happened to the home business owner profiled on the Entrepreneur.com story featured yesterday at msnbc.
Kristin Edelhauser Chessman wrote the piece that tells of a "41-year-old business owner who admits that he doesn't get much sleep."
When does working at your home business become too much?
Kristin's article gives some excellent suggestions for determining if you are a workaholic. Personally, I'd suggest that you're taking your business too seriously if it's interfering with other aspects of your life, such as relationships and health.
How can you avoid succumbing to the temptation of workaholism?
The answer is both easy, and hard. If you work from home it's more important than ever to set boundaries between your work life and your personal life.
For example, people who would never consider driving in to an office at 2:00 a.m. will get up and work in a home office at that time.
You can stop this behavior by designating certain times as "work" times and others as "personal" and sticking to your designations.
What about you? Have you felt pressure to overwork since you began working at home? How do you separate your business life and your personal life?

Sometimes I work too much - but I don't feel like I have much of a choice until I'm making more money.
