What Job is the Most Flexible?
I found this list of the ten "most flexible" careers on Yahoo! Education. (By flexible, they mean that the job offers employees the opportunity to set their own hours and/or the opportunity to work from home or to share a job.)

It's interesting to me that four of the jobs listed (medical transcriptionist, database administrator, software developer, and graphic designer) are jobs that we've discussed already here at Work From Home Momma.

It surprised me that one job in particular was on the list, though. I'd never have thought that private investigation would be a flexible career choice.

In light of this list, I thought it might be interesting to create our own list of the most flexible jobs (according to the readers of Work From Home Momma).

If I get enough responses, then I'll post the list with your comments and link to each of the commentators.

How about it? What is the most flexible job that you can think of and why?

It's gotta be virtual assistance for me since with the right tools, the right team AND the right clients, it can make you very in-charge of your time and "busyness".

Thanks Alfa! That's one vote towards our list.

If you are living in VA or MD, working for the US Patent Office is a very flexible job. The first year you generally have to go in during "standard" office hours, but after that you can choose just about any work schedule that works for you, so long as you get in 80 hours every bi-week. There are also laptops available for senior examiners to work from home.

There are success stories of couples working as patent examiners and staggering their work hours so one or the other is always home with the kids.

Hi Kali!

Thanks for sharing your flexible job. I'm sure readers living in VA or MD who are looking for flexible work will thank you too.
