One of my readers, Trisha over at Ideas for Women dropped me a note yesterday to remind me that Earth Day was coming. Since I often do learn about special days after the fact (for example, I completely missed last week's Blogger Appreciation Day), I really appreciated the reminder.
In this case, however, I did already have Earth Day marked on my calendar as the topic for a post. (By, the way, Trisha has a great Earth Day post up today. You can read it here.)
Earth Day was started in 1970 as a national demonstration on the environment. You can read more on the history of Earth Day at the Wikipedia, or at History.com. One of the great things about Earth Day is that it provides a wonderful opportunity to educate kids about the planet. With that in mind, the U.S. government has provided an Earth Day portal that's full of information and activities designed especially for kids.
I've already blogged about how home business owners can become and stay green. Today, I thought it might be time to take a look at some basic questions that can help us remember to conserve resources. Here are some questions that I think every home office owner should ask:![]()
- Can I make do with less?
- Can this be reused?
- Is there are more natural process for doing this?
- How can I make my concerns about the environment heard?
I think that if every home business owner took the time to ask and answer these question honestly, then we'd make some great strides towards improving the environment.
What about you? What are your recommendations for Earth Day?

Thank you! I did work hard on the post, so I am glad someone noticed it and liked it!
And those are some very good questions for people to think about!
