Watching My Words: March Goals
It's time for another another follow up to my New Year's Resolution post. If you are just joining Work From Home Momma, I made a resolution in January to take baby steps towards improving my life and business and to blog about those steps each month. This is that monthly post. My baby steps resolutions are inspired by this post at Work It Mom.

Last month, my goal was to spend less time managing and reading my e-mail. To be completely honest, I've been dreading this post. I failed February's goal miserably. A large reason for my failure is the fact that I am a freelancer who gets most of her work through e-mail. So, I guess that my goal was somewhat unrealisting. I do wish that I'd seen this post by Celine Roque at the Pimp Your Work blog. It might have helped.

Now it's time to pick a baby step to take in March. What will it be?
goals.jpg This month's baby step is inspired by two posts that Yvonne Russell wrote on her Grow Your Writing Business blog. The first post is about something simple, but something that I was totally ignoring - my name. You can read Yvonne's post here. The second post is about being careful about what you write. You can read that post here.

So my goal for March is two-fold:
  • Use my full name when commenting on other blogs, not just my first name or a nickname.
  • Be careful about the words I use. (Especially the words I use in comments. I tend to proofread work that I do for clients meticulously, but barely look over comments that I leave on other blogger's blogs. I definitely need to improve in this area.)
I'll let you know how I did in April.

What about you? Did you set a goal for yourself this year? How are you doing?

Leave a comment and let us know.

Hi Laura
Thanks for alerting readers to my articles... pleased you found them useful.

I like your idea of baby step month by month goals rather than the often unrealistic annual goals. I also read Celine's post and was inspired by it.

Thanks Yvonne!

I thought those posts were interesting, and not necessarily things I would have thought about on my own. It certainly inspired me to set a goal.
