I definitely feel that most of us have areas where we need to improve and learn to be more efficient.
When I began to read the book, however, I discovered that it's not quite something that I could get into. Dr. Hardt has patented a brain wave neuro-feedback technology (which sounds a lot like biofeedback to me), and this book is about the benefits of that technique.
Although I have no personal interest in biofeedback, I know that some people claim to benefit from it. I decided to see what the Mayo Clinic had to say about the topic and I found this article titled, Biofeedback: Using your mind to improve your health. The sentence that stood out to me was this one: "Experts aren't entirely sure how the biofeedback therapy works."
The book, The Art of Smart Thinking, had some spiritual overtones. Chapter 5, for example, is called "Expanded Spiritual Awareness." Chapter 6 is called "Zen and the Art of Smart Thinking."
Personally, I already have a faith that offers me a great deal of comfort and answers many of the questions posed by the book. Some of the problems addressed in the book, such as the one in Chapter 7 (titled "Extreme Forgiveness") are not even problems for me at this time since my faith has already helped me to overcome them.
One thing that I do agree with is the recommendation of the book to eliminate what it calls "common legal drugs." By this it means caffeine, alchohol, and nicotine. I definitely do believe that these substances can have a negative impact, not only on your thinking, but also on your overall health. Avoiding these substances makes a lot of since to me. (Although, I have to admit that I haven't been able to totally get rid of caffeine.)
Overall, this is just not something that I'm really interested in.
What about you? Is this something that interests you? Have you tried biofeedback, and if so, what did you think?

I have read this book, I found it so enlightening! Inside I found out how happy go lucky people stay happy simply by having Alpha brainwaves. There is one major drawback of this book though that it does not teach you how to create and manage your own alpha brain waves which I found very disapointing. Nevertheless it was an excellent read and sheds light on many subjects of interest. Here is the book I found : http://dealstudio.com/searchdeals.php?deal_id=90634&ru=279 , I think if anyone is really keen to grow, give it a go!
