While you may not want to send out Valentine's Day Cards to your clients, Valentine's Day may still have an impact on your home business. Consider the following:
- Mail may be slower. According to a fact sheet from the Greeting Card Association, a trade organization representing the greeting card industry, Valentine's Day cards are the second most popular type of seasonal greeting card. Many of those cards will be sent through the mail, potentially slowing it down.
- Employees may want to leave early. February the 14th falls on a Thursday this year. If your home business has employees, then be aware that they may want to leave work a little early on that day in order to spend time with their special someone.
- If your business makes novelty or children's items, introducing Valentine's Day themed items now may be a great way to expand your product line.
- Valentine's Day makes a great excuse for a holiday sale. You can make it a one-day only sale starting and ending on Valentine's Day, or you can have sale or promotion leading up to Valentine's day.

What about you? Does Valentine's Day affect your home business? Why, or why not?
