
It was this statement (from Sheryl's daughter) in her post that got to me: "How come all my friends have more fun money than I do?"
When I first started working from home my eldest was convinced that I had ruined her life. All of the sudden we had to watch our budget as we never had to do before. She wasn't used to saving money at all.
Her arguments and fussing came as a real shock to me. First of all, I had no idea that we were raising such a seemingly materialistic child. Secondly, it seemed that she would prefer to get the latest and greatest fad item that her friends were getting rather than spend time with me, her mom.

"That's ridiculuous!" My daughter retorted. "I'd never dream of spending that much money on a purse."

Having a tight budget is common when you first start your own business. For most home business owners it takes a while for them to build up to the income level that they received before they started their business.
