Across the country many cities are having parades and other Veterans Day celebrations. The United States Department of Veterans Affairs website has a listing of some national Veterans Day celebrations. It also has some information on the history of Veterans Day. Additional information on the history of Vetaran's day can be found on Wikipedia. (Homeschool moms - this might make a good history lesson.)
In the United States many state and federal offices (as well as banks) will be closed on Monday, November 12, in recognition of the Veterans Day holiday. If your home business deals with other banks or with government offices, be sure to check and see if they are open on Monday.
In addition, some stores will hold special Veterans Day sales. Check your local newspapers for the best deals near you.
What about you? Do you have any special plans for Veterans Day? Will you be working as usual, participating in a celebration, or going to a sale?
