On Being an Inventor
From Misses E., who blogs at Diary of a Work-at-Home-Mom:
"My brother, husband, and I have made pretty good teams with inventing games though. The latest one my brother and I cooked up make some pretty awesome homemade gifts for relatives about three years back, but after researching the development process, we decided against trying to patent and market the thing.
On the other hand, my husband and I are planning to submit the role-play game we're developing to RPG publishers once it's completed. It's likely to be three or four years down the road considering he only has time to work on his contributions to it during summer break, but it's coming along. It still falls into the category of words though since what we're creating to sell is the game manual/world book. It's generally up to the RPG publisher to develop the starter kits, so I'm not sure if it counts."
From Mihaela "Mig" Lica, who blogs at Online Public Relations:
"Personally I think that working from home requires as much time and dedication as a steady job, if not more. There is always something to do, always someone coming in the way, especially those who still don't understand that working from home doesn't mean not working."On Perfectionism
From lornadoone, who blogs at freelance parent:
"I tend to have some major problems with perfectionsim . . . to the point where I get paralyzed about even starting something because I feel like there's no point unless the finished product is going to be perfect. Learning that there really is no such thing as "perfect" has helped a bit. It's ridiculous to constantly strive for something that is impossible. It doesn't always work, but reminding myself of this can make a difference."I really enjoyed reading the comments this week. Keep them coming!
