Just in time for Christmas shopping, Verizon Wireless (VZ) has released a new phone to compete with the Apple iPhone.
You can read the news reports about the Voyager on I4U News or at Money.cnn.com.
The Verizon Voyager looks a lot like an iPhone and has a lot of the same slick tech features such as a touch-screen and multi-media features. Some news reports are claiming that the Voyager will be faster than the iPhone, due to the better speeds available from the Verizon Wireless data network.
Would I use the Verizon Voyager for my home office? ![]()
Generally speaking, I would not. For many of the same reasons that I wouldn't use Apple's iPhone, I think the Voyager would not be practical for my business (which is primarily freelance writing).
Could some home business owners find it useful? Sure. I can especially see it being used for home businesses that are based largely on phone transactions.
I think that Verizon is especially savvy to roll this out right before the holiday season, when many folks will be shopping for gifts.
What about you? Will you be using a Verizon Voyager in your home business? Why, or why not?

I wouldn't use either the iPhone or the Voyager because I like my current network provider (T-Mobile) and I like my Blackberry. For what I need, internet and (instant) email access I can't really see using another type of smart phone. Granted, I know nothing really about the email access of the iPhone or Voyager but I do know that neither phone has been advertising that as a feature nor do I think they've really been going after the business crowd.
