Are you a baseball fan? Did you watch the Rod Sox beat the Colorado Rockies yesterday?
As you may already know, the 2007 World Series has begun. For next six or seven days top teams will battle it out for the championship in a series of highly advertised, highly viewed games.
You can read all about the world series (and last night's Rockies defeat) at MLB.Com. You can see the schedule for the World Series here.
You can read about the history of the World Series at Wikipedia. (Homeschool moms, what an enjoyable history project this would make! I've included a photo for your little sports fans of the first-ever World Series game in 1903 with this post.)
How will the World Series affect your business? Will you slow down, or take additional time off to watch the games?![]()
For some home businesses, though, the World Series could represent an great marketing opportunity. If your business makes and sells craft items, you could make your products more attractive to baseball fans by customizing items to match the official colors of their favorite team. Imagine tee-shirts, candles, and even necklaces made in official team colors.
Another sports-related business opportunity would be to run a contest in which the winner recieves tickets to the game. (It's probably too late to do this for this year's World Series, but it's not too late to plan for next year.) Most people love contests and this could attract additional business.
