Is it possible to be happy on such a day?
According to the Millionaire Mommy Next Door the answer is "yes." I agree.
There's another post from Donald Latumahina at lifehack.org with some great how-tos on enjoying what you are doing, no matter what.
Everyone knows that it feels much better to be happy, but did you know that happiness could actually boost your productivity? It's been proven again and again that happy people are more effective in their jobs. At the Chief Happiness Officer Blog there's a list of ten reasons why happiness boosts productivity.
If you think about it, you know instinctively that a positive attitude is more effective. Just imagine yourself at a restaurant. Would you rather be waited upon by a grumpy and complaining waitperson, or by a cheery and upbeat waitperson? If you are like most people, you prefer the cheery and upbeat waitperson.
The same is thing is true for your customers. If given the choice, they prefer to communicate with an upbeat professional rather than a gloomy freelancer. (That doesn't mean that you should be so optimistic that you should make promises that you can't keep, however.)
Important Note: Always see a medical professional to rule out any underlying physical conditions if you experience unexplained sadness for any prolonged length of time.
What about you? Do you make an effort to be positive in your business transactions and how has it helped your business?
