Many towns are planning special Labor Day events. If you are looking for something fun to do, here's a handy list of Labor Day events across the country from the folks at About.com.
For many, Labor Day weekend is their last chance for a quick Summer vacation. With labor day gas prices lower than they have been, travel is expected to be at a high this weekend. (Drive safely, please!) Personally, I've always thought of Labor Day weekend as the unofficial end of Summer even though the first day of Fall is actually September 23, 2007.
By the way, did you know that Labor Day has a fascinating history dating back over a hundred years? That's right, the national Labor Day holiday dates back to 1884. You can read all about it at the Library Of Congress website and the U.S. Department of Labor site. (This is great stuff, by the way, if you homeschool your kids.)
If you're like me, you might actually be working this labor day weekend. I had planned to wrap up all of my projects, but had some trouble with one at the last minute.
What are your Labor Day weekend plans? Leave a comment and let me know?
