ClickNewz! is the blog of Lynn Terry, who works from home full time as an Internet marketer. In this particular post Lynn provides three areas that a home-based worker can focus on to improve their productivity and profits.
Reason #2 in Lynn's post is the one that really caught my eye. Her reason #2 was "You're not setting specific business hours (and filling them." I think this is an area where many home-based workers have trouble. Personally, I know how easy it is to get sidetracked during the day when you work at home. It's just so easy to answer that phone call, do that little bit of laundry or housework, or even run an errand. Every time I do that, though, it cuts into the time that I have left to work on my projects.
It's true that many home-based workers have chosen to work at home for the flexible working hours, but it is still important to set aside enough time to get your work done.
Think about it. If you were working for someone else you wouldn't suddenly get up in the middle of a project, leave your desk, and start washing dishes, would you?
Should you treat your own business with less respect than you would someone else's? Of course not.
Do you set specific business hours for your home business? If you do, do you have trouble sticking to them? Leave a comment and let us know.

Yes I do! I find that I get more accomplished in less time if I designate certain times of the day for work. One helpful hint: Start your 1st hour concentrating on work. This will put you in the working mindset throughout the day.
