The news of the spinach recall comes on the heels of news that the national obesity rate is rising. Our lifestyles have become more sedentary than ever. Work-at-home moms and other workers who may sit at a computer monitor for large parts of the day are particularly vulnerable to the effects of a sedentary lifestyle.
One way to combat the rising obesity rate is by substituting fresh foods for fat-laden convenience foods. The new recall, however, brings up questions about the safety of the nation's food supply.
