Devoted to WAHMs -Work at Home Moms

If you work at home, chances are, you work on the weekends. At the moment, I do try and get a few hours in on Saturdays and Sundays, but I’m hoping that will end once my son is in school full time. There's really no getting around it at the present time.

I took most of this weekend off from working, just because I wanted to spend a nice spring weekend gardening and doing things with my family. It was worth it for sure, the weather was cooperative, we had a nice dinner out and even got a few things done around the house. I’m paying the price for not working though.

Since most of my income comes from blogging, I’m scrambling to post to each of my blogs. Page views are way down and a few places pay page view bonuses. When you rely on traffic, you have to post often or people lose interest. The rest of my jobs, writing for websites (not blogging though) are also suffering. Because I did no writing on the weekend, I have to work extra during the week.

There’s no school today and tomorrow because of the student art show. This also means that I miss the 2+ hours of work I’d get in during the preschool hours and that adds up to staying up late tonight to play catch up. Now don’t get me wrong, I know I made the right decision. Family always comes first and I love nothing better than an enjoyable weekend with my loved ones. Next time though, I’ll have to do better planning ahead. By doing more writing ahead of time and working an extra hour or two during week nights, I wouldn’t be struggling to get ahead today.
