Do you have a particular talent or area of expertise? Consider writing an e-book.
The idea isn’t as far fetched as you think. Many WAHMs are using self publishers such as Lulu to to publish and sell e-books online. Lest you think you don’t have anything to write about, let me offer some suggestions:
- How to make it in your chosen career. Are you always the top earner in your party plan? Are you the customer service employee of the month? Share the secrets of your success with others.
- Craft ideas. If you’re handy with a needle or think of great projects for kids, turn that into cash by offering up your patterns and ideas to others.
- Recipes and cooking tips. Everyone has family recipes or cooking tips that have been passed down throughout the generations. Share your favorite party foods or potluck recipes.
Other ideas:
- Free outings for grownups and kids in your area
- “How To” guides
- Gardening tips
- Road trips and tourist attractions
- The best places to stay while on vacation
- Child friendly vacations
- Tips for keeping kids amused on long car rides
- How to get the best airfare
See? Anything can be turned into an e-book! Depending on the desirability of the subject matter, each book can be sold for several dollars or hundreds of dollars. Of course it’ll take some research. You want to research your topic and see how many others have written about the same thing. Find out how their books are selling and how much they charge. You’ll also want to thoroughly research the self-publisher.
Everyone has stuff they’re good at. Why not make some money off a hobby or idea and write an e-book?
