Top 5 Reasons to Work at Home

Top 5 Reasons to work at home work at home

  1. Make your own hours – The reason most of us work at home is to be with our kids. Working from home allows the convenience and flexibility of working when its best for us. Whether it’s early in the morning, late at night, or when the kids are in school, we don’t have to work 9 to 5 if we don’t want to.
  2. Wear what you like – My second favorite reason. I don’t have to put on pantyhose or go business casual. While I do believe in getting out of the jammies to work, I feel I work better in something loose and comfortable.
  3. Be your own boss – Some of us are independent contractors and others have actual bosses, but there’s no one standing over us policing our every move. We don’t need permission to take a lunch hour or talk on the phone, and don’t have to waste time in meetings. Working at home creates a stress free, boss free environment.
  4. Save money – No commuting costs, no lunch at the cafeteria every day, no pantyhose and business clothes, working at home is a definite money-saver.
  5. Good for the environment – No doubt about it, working at home is good for the environment. Less people commuting means less gas and less smog. I’m all about clean air.

Here's another one: you don't necessarily have to face your clients face to face. Many work-from-homers work over the phone or over the web. To some, this extra level of anonymity gives them power. On the other hand, some folks miss the social interaction.
