Nope, I haven't heard of Yelp.com either but they think they might be the next YouTube and best of all they are looking for witty writers. What is Yelp?
![]()
Yelp is the fun and easy way to find, review and talk about what's great (and not so great) in your world. You already know that asking friends is the best way to find restaurants, dentists, hairstylists, and anything local. Yelp makes it fast and easy by collecting and organizing your friends' recommendations in one convenient place.
Currently they are only looking for writers that know Austin, TX. I found this ad on craigslist.com but I didn't find anything about open jobs on their web site.
BELIEVE THE HYPE
Could Yelp.com be the next YouTube? According to Time Magazine we could be. But don't take their word for it... read what the LA Times, Forbes, Chicago Tribune, NY Times, SF Chronicle, PC Magazine and BusinessWeek have to say about Yelp.
If you are a great writer, if you love to blog and connect with others online, if you know Austin better than anyone else, READ ON...
WE'RE HIRING
We are looking to hire a snarky, witty, humorous and intelligent Austin hipster, who knows the city inside and out.

This critical role includes:

• Answering local questions on Talk, creating Lists and generally being a model Yelp community member
• Spreading the word about Yelp to the broader community
The right candidate:
a. Knows Austin's hot spots and influencers
b. Is extremely well-written
c. Is one of those "connectors" that makes other people want to follow them
d. ...and of course likes what they see at Yelp.com
Compensation:
The Marketing Assitant will earn a competitive hourly wage for 10-30 hours of weekly contribution. If all goes well, the role could expand after several months.
IF YOU'RE INTERESTED
