Working Solutions: Possibly Your Solution to Working From Home

Working Solutions was voted one of the Best Places to Work in 2005 and 2006 by the Dallas Business Journal. And they are a reputable company providing real work-from-home jobs.

In an article from ContactProfessional.com it is states that the number of home-based agents employed by the $30 billion U.S. contact center industry (call center, contact center-they are one and the same) - estimated at more than 110,000 at present - is expected to triple by 2010.

There is a growing sophistication in the demands of Fortune 1000 companies and they expect the agents representing them to follow suit. The offshore call center bubble has burst with benefits not outweighing the troubles with cultural and linguistic barriers, geopolitical uncertainties, data privacy concerns, increasingly complex transactions and a renewed focus on reliance on customer loyalty.

Working Solutions is a leader in the remote agent industry and recently introduced several new "Agents OnDemand" services specifically designed to cater to the diverse needs of customers in the financial services, health care and travel/leisure industries.

Working Solutions is well aware of the need for quality training, which is good for you and good for their clients. The key to a successful home agent implementation centers on distance learning. They believe you need the right blend of three instructional strategies in order to produce competent representatives:

  1. Direct instruction by the trainer
  2. Indpendent practice by the agent
  3. Group practice

Working Solutions has been in business since 1996 and has a network of more than 28,000 work-at-home agents they like to call Agents OnDemand. These agents come in the following flavors:

  • Sales agents
  • Service agents
  • Travel agents
  • Healthcare agents
  • Financial agents
  • Real-time transcription agents supporting 30 languages

To apply to become a Working Solutions agent click here. Besides your normal name, address etc. you will be asked about your modem speed, operating system, familiarity with computer applications, if you currently work from home or outside the home, availability times, how many hours you would like to work, languages you speak, project interest, typing speed, industry experience, level of education, certifications and licenses, where you heard about them and a short paragraph telling them why working remotely would be valuable to you.

They are truly legit - no fees are charged, EVER. The equipment you will need:

Qualified Agents must have an up to date, reliable computer in their home, with a minimum of 128MB of RAM, and at least a 350MHz Processor recommended.

A broadband internet connection (Cable, DSL, T1, ISDN, Satellite) is required for all projects—sorry, there are no exceptions to this. Some call center projects are not compatible with Satellite, AOL Broadband, or Wireless ISP’s.

Computers must be current on Windows Updates and certain projects have restrictions regarding firewalls, pop up blockers, etc. A Windows XP operating system with Service Pack 2 is also required, so agents must be able to upgrade to one of these versions before beginning a project.

We cannot currently support Macintosh platforms. Call center projects also require a telephone line, telephone headset, working printer, and without exception, a quiet, uninterrupted work environment during all working hours.
