Party plans are a dime a dozen and everyone has heard of Tupperware (TUP) and Avon (AVP) but have you heard of Passion Parties?
It's a 21st century twist to the home party plan. The company has been around for 12 years and their slogan is 'Where Every Day is Valentine's Day' and it seems to be working. They are based in the San Francisco suburb of Brisbane, California headed by Patricia Davis. She states that sales have grown more than 50 percent in each year of the last three years.
They have made a lot of press including O, The Oprah Magazine, CNN's Anderson Cooper 360 Degree show and the Tyra Banks Show. She is quoted on their Web site as saying, "Some of the most unlikely people are making big money in the sex industry. During the day, you can find them at the supermarket or at the nail salon, but at night you can find them hosting something called Passion Parties."
To find out more about becoming a consultant you choose your home state from a drop down menu which then directs you to a consultant Web site in your area. They have a video called 'Imagine' but I couldn't get it to load.
You can receive a discount of 10, 25 and 40 % off products based upon the demonstration kit you choose to purchase. The cost of the kits range from $100 to $450. If you choose to start out at the lowest discount rate you can bump it up by placing a retail order ranging from $300 to $1000, although in order to bump up to the 40 % discount you have to be at a 25% discount so you can't skip discount levels.
There are bonuses, trips and car ownership opportunities for training, recruiting and sales, which sound a lot like the Mary Kay plan. According to the Web site I was directed to they are having a special discount promotion that allows you to 'bump up' to the next level of discount but you still pay the lower kit cost.
Products range from lotions, edibles and bath products to videos, lingerie and sex toys.
You just fill in a form and you will be contacted later by your upline consultant. Of course, I will be doing my own independent research of this party plan. I'll let you know what I find out!
