I tripped over two work-at-home jobs today. My sister told me about a work from home job that she found on the Sundance Institute Web site. She had been looking for something entirely different but when she came across this job she thought of me. Before I could get further information onto this post the job was filled but in a nut shell they were looking for temporary help in editing a magazine and some other written materials in conjunction with the Sundance Film Festival.
The next 'job' I found was in my local newspaper. I went to pick up my son from kindergarten and when I do this I pick up the newspaper (they always have a pile for sharing) and while I waited for my son I read about this Web site. Amazon.com Inc.'s (AMZN) Mechanical Turk, mturk.com. The article I read quoted those who made from $25 a week to more doing simple tasks that people do better than computers. The site will give you all the info you need.
The point is that you can come across work from home jobs almost anywhere. If you have a hobby, talent, or skill look at Web sites that match those interests. Don't just expect the job to jump out at you either. It took going through three or four clicks on obscure listings in the Sundance Web site to get to the open jobs list.
Explore Web sites, newspapers, magazines, and other media. Listen to the radio--where I heard about a job I talked about in my last post. Get others to search for you to by asking family, friends, associates and even neighbors about your search for a job that you can do from home.
