Have you ever really just stopped and figured out how much a stay-at-home mom would be worth if she were actually paid, in dollars, for what she does? Below is a great chart that helps you realize what your worth is. But before you read that I want you to think how much you pay others to do some of the jobs on that chart.
When you are considering working from home you can't just consider what income you will bring in, although that is extremely important. You should also consider how much you will be saving if you are working from home.
Granted, just because you work from home doesn't mean you might stop contracting out some of these tasks but you are in a better position to do them yourself when you ARE working at home.

Juggling these 'jobs' and your work-from-home job can be a bit overwhelming but if you can organize your time and tasks and delegate to your children and spouse you can do it! Even with 3 strapping young men (23,21,18) in my house I still do almost all the yard work myself because they are off doing their own thing. For me it is time to be by myself and de-stress.
I delegate taxi service, garbage duty, dishes, babysitting, homework, and even playtime to the older boys. This is part of their 'rent' and they are pretty good about following through.
It is great to take a 5 minute break and throw a load of laundry in or stick a roast in the crock pot. A good way to keep things organized is divide jobs into timed chunks. For instance, you can eat your lunch while reading over documents. Answer emails while the little one is in the tub. Fold laundry while you are on a conference call (you can push mute until you have a comment to make) since you can still concentrate on the call as your hands automatically fold-no thought needed for that chore.
The point is-factor in these 'savings' if you currently pay a maid, child care service, errand service, or other service that you might otherwise be able to take over if you decided to work from home.
