This article, What Is a Mom Worth? Working Mom vs. Stay-at-Home Mom Salary Projections for 2006, was in my email inbox this morning and goes with the post I made two days ago, What are You Worth?
This quote doesn't even take into consideration that moms can work from home:
"We don't want to add fuel to the mommy-war fire," said Meredith Hanrahan, senior vice president of Salary.com Interactive. "Both moms struggle with keeping the house clean and moms of both types reported making tremendous sacrifices to make their children happy, healthy, and successful. Stay at Home Moms give up the benefits of working outside the home, including extra income, title, and career advancement. Working Moms give up more sleep, time for exercise, and skip lunch to spend quality time nurturing and educating their children. In the end, both claim it was well worth it."
Eyes are still being opened to this possibility however slowly. I sent them an email asking why they haven't addressed this segment of the working mother population in their current articles, even suggesting they do so!
Let's see what kind of response I get.

I hope they get back to you with an apology Marta! Okay, so they probably weren't focusing on working from home in the article - but still, it is important to spread the word that millions around the world are making that work.
