Working from home perk number 4: when you work from home you can take your work with you where ever you go. At first you might not really consider that a perk. I mean really, who wants to take their work everywhere!
I consider it a perk because I don't receive vacation benefits and since I can't afford to take an unpaid vacation I take my work with me! In fact, as I am writing this I am sitting in a hotel room in Southern Californa. My kids are fast asleep in their comfy beds after a full day at Disneyland.
I borrowed my son's laptop and I have been using it to keep up on work. One of the things I checked on when booking my hotel room was whether or not they provided wireless computer service, which they do and which most large hotel chains do nowadays.
In November I traveled out of state but I didn't have access to a laptop then but the hotel I stayed in had a wonderful business center complete with 2 computers, printers, fax, stapler, paper clips and phones. There was no special charge for it and you were not limited on the amount of time you could use it.
With the technology that is available today it is becoming easier to do business while on the road. This same technology is what is making working from home more viable for you as well. Many companies are looking at the cost benefits of allowing employees to work from home at least part of the week if not the whole week.
Now I just need to keep the sand out of the laptop tomorrow at the beach and I'll be doing just fine!

Good for you, Marta. I'll look forward to getting a postcard.
