One of the best tools you are going to have in your work-from-home tool belt is education. Knowlege is powerful whether with technical skill sets or book smarts. I came across this site, BlogHer, and this blog about free MIT courses.
I have come across both women and men that work from home and it isn't all telemarketing. From doing mortages and data entry to micro biology to collections there is a great deal of work-from-home opportunities. This is why it is a great idea to broaden your education horizons since you never know what job is just waiting for you.

You're right, Marta, continuing education is vital no matter where we work. The easiest way I know to educate yourself is to read read read, which can be so easy to do working at home. As soon as I had the house to myself, I would listen to audio books while I exercised, cleaned myself up and ate breakfast. Then, I'd read during lunch or if I got bogged down. Books is good!
