One of the best ways to stay motivated and pumped up about your search for work-from-home opportunities is to know that others were in your shoes (stylish pumps or running shoes, its all good) and have made it!
I would like to introduce you to one of my sister 'blog-hers', Melonie Murray of Workerette and SmallBizMentor. Like me, Melonie is a work-from-home mother. Unlike me, she has taken on the brave and fearless task of homeschooling her children!
I find it ironic that the first thing that came to my mind when I thought about her busy life was, "how does she do it?" even though I have been asked that question so many times myself. I don't know what her answer would be but mine has always been, "I don't know!"
Melonie addresses an interesting topic in Marketing to Women: What Do You Think? I found it interesting because I have always been of the mindset (probably because in my time as a wife and a single mother I have always been the one who made the financial decisions) that companies would do well to look into their marketing efforts towards women. Not only do we carry the purse with its accompanying purse strings but we also have great influence over the next generation of consumers.
This made me think about the efforts of employers in providing telecommuting positions for their workers and workerettes. Without generalizing, most women would like to find a happy medium between being a mother and earning an income. Something that would allow them to feel fulfilled in their career without sacrificing the needs of their children.
I just believe it is in the interest of better business that companies begin to gear their thinking towards making it easier and more viable for those who want to work from home to do so. The old adage, "If momma ain't happy ain't nobody happy" can be applied to employee satisfaction. A happy employee is a productive employee. In the words of Martha Stewart, "A happy momma-its a good thing!"

Thanks for the "shout-out", Marta! I appreciate it and I'm glad the marketing post caught your eye. Have to throw in a side note here...your blog was one of the ones I first read while investigating KMM's network before applying for the SmallBizMentor.com blog. I'm excited about this opportunity to continue working from home as I was doing, and to rub elbows with the "blog-hers" (and the bloggers) here at KMM.
