I am a voracious reader (which means if you don't want me to eat your book keep it out of my reach!) and so I wondered what kinds of books were on the market that would address the work from home market.
One of the best resources, of course, is your local library. It's free and you can read the book or just do a quick reading overview to determine if the book is worth purchasing.
Here is a list of books I have found that might be worth a first or second look:
- Working from Home: Everything You Need to Know about Living and Working Under the Same Roof Paul and Sarah Edwards
- The Home Office Solution Alice Bredin
- How To Start A Home-Based Catering Business Denise Vivaldo
- I Love My Life: A Mom's Guide To Working from Home Kristie Tamsevicius
- Winning at Working from Home Edith Hagenaar
Now of course the titles that will be available at your library might vary from the titles available at mine. These titles were gleaned from a quick Internet search. I am planning a trip to the library on Thursday and I will come back with my own choices. I'll do a quick review on each title in my daily blog and tell you what is worth your time and what isn't. Please feel free to make suggestions for my reading list.
It is important to realize that reading up on topics about working from home is great to get the creative juices flowing but don't get stalled in the planning and research stage. How many dreams get stuck in neutral that way? Too many. At some point you will just have to dive in. Dive in to starting your own business. Dive in to asking your employer if they will consider a telecommuting position. Dive in to networking and searching for viable and legitimate work from home opportunities. Come on in! There's plenty of room in the pool.
