Who's Da Momma?
Welcome to my blog. The dress code is pretty casual and so is my approach. I am a work-at-home-momma, divorced, with seven wonderful, crazy, slightly annoying children.

I have a wealth of experience in many business capacities including marketing, public relations, advertising, property and retail management. For good measure you can also throw in there some construction experience, primarily in drywall. There’s a story there-for another time!

I am currently a part-time BYU student working on a dual major in Communications and Business. Being a sophomore at my age has been quite a kick in the pants but it’s better than last year when I was a freshman!

I have worked from home off and on for the last five years in one capacity or another including direct selling, editor/advertising director for an eBay power seller, freelance writer and more. I have worked in traditional job settings since I was a teenager but with the grace of God I hope to never return again! My current stint is as the managing editor for an online publisher and I love it!

I like movies, music, reading, learning, traveling, and taking long walks on the beach. Oh wait, wrong blog! Seriously folks, I am out there in the trenches (which are filled with laundry, homework, and fighting for MY time on the computer) and I am going to write about it. I want to hear from you and welcome any input. My name is Marta, and I'm proud to be a work-at-home momma!

Hello! I came across your blog and I really enjoy it! 7 kids wow! I know your hands are full I have 4 and I work outside of the home full time so getting to the computer only comes around 3am! I have been trying to work from home for years I would love to be able to stay at home with my babies, I got my degree in Medical Billing in 04' and I have been a Medicare Coordinator in a Lab. since then, I love doing Billing I just cant find any jobs that will let me do it from home. Well I just wanted to comment! Becca

Rebecca,

Thanks for your comment. It's good to hear from you! At least you have the training to back you up. Now all you need to do is start networking in your area and outside your area for work from home opportunities. Prepare a killer resume, cover letter and proposal letter and hit all the doctors etc. and then follow up with a call. That is the hard part but you should be able to start building up after your initial clients! Keep me posted and I'll write a blog entry on this very subject!!

Marta

WOW! Love your site! You are miles ahead of me, but I am so impressed that you do all you do with som many kids! Great job!

Rob,

Thanks! Come back often and share your opinions and experiences. Good luck out there!

Marta

Hi Marta
I am a wahm with 4 kids and sometimes it does get overwhelming with teenagers LOL
I too am a student but not in the tradtional way
I did go back though to get some computer training last year.
Now all my training is on line and through telephone conference calls, so that I can have the freedom to study on my own time and not leave the house.

It is very helpful to know there are others out there who are as crazy as I am
Maria

Maria,

It does feel good to know there are other wacky wahms doesn't it? LOL Please stay in touch and let us know how you are doing and exactly what kind of work you do. Thanks for your comments!

Marta

Hi Marta, I am very impressed with your motivation and how well you have achieved what you have because you have put your mind to it, you have to do it and you love doing it. Having a family is our biggest, yet rewarding challenge today and we all have families in one way or another. We have three children, ages 11, 13 and 16 and these are difficult years not only for parents, but our children as well. We parents need to do our best, set an example and show them that we can do whatever we put our mind to. I would love to share with you a home base business on photos, skin care and the latest technology, if you are interested. Feel free to contact me if you are interested in another home base business and/or just being a customer. Again, congratulations on a job well done, especially being a single mother. God Bless you, Ann

Wow, I have been reading your blog for a while and finally came across this post that explains more about you! Congrats on the degree pursuits... I'm impressed!
