A Work From Home Opportunity In Utah

If you want to work from home and you live in the state of Utah O'Currance Teleservices is hiring. I was driving, or maybe I should say standing, in traffic one evening on my way to a Christmas company party when I heard their ad on the radio. I took out my pen and wrote down their 1-800 number and their website address (and since I was crawling along at 3 mph I finished knitting that sweater forJohnny, organized my receipts by date of purchase, and dusted the dashboard).

Some of the benefits of working for their company (pulled from their website) are:

At O'Currance, our unique benefits package is one of the biggest reasons that both our clients and employees are so consistently happy. Combined with our commission structure and career growth potential, this plan has created a work environment in which long-term employee satisfaction is a reality. This package includes:

  - opportunity to work from home
  - health / dental benefits
  - life insurance policy
  - 401K plan
  - base pay plus commissions
  - vacation for full and part time employees
  - sick pay
  - weekly cash incentive awards

  Additional benefits:
  - friendly, professional staff and executive team
  - industry-specific training
  - savings on gas, food and child care (due to being able to work at home)
  - use of leading-edge technology and programs

Here are a couple of testimonials taken right from their website:

"There couldn't be a better job for a mom like me! I have now been with O'Currance for 4 years, and things only get better. There are many things that I love about my job...The biggest thing for me is that I can always be home for my kids… I don't have to miss their first steps, their first word. What could be better then to be in the comfort of your own home, in control of your own environment… no gossip...no drama! I also make more money working part time from home than my friends do who work outside of the home, full time. Plus, I am the one raising my own kids. It really is the best of both worlds!

The real question is, why would you not want to work here?"
- Melissa Anderson

"Working for O'Currance out of my home has been a dream come true. I did not want to leave my baby in daycare and thanks to O'Currance, I have been able to stay at home with him and still make great money because of the generous commission structure. When it is time to work, I walk in to my office, and when my shift is over I walk out of my office and am already home. I don't have to worry about travel time or gas money. I am thankful for my job at O'Currance."
- Melody Wilbur

Makes you want to sign right up don't it? The ad on the radio said you could make from $40,000 to $50,000 a year working from home. I don't know about you but I always worry when I hear such claims.

So I will put on my Sherlock Holmes chapeau and see what the application and hiring process is like, commission and pay structure, and steps in which you 'earn' the right to work from home and I will return and report.

This is the note you will see when applying online along with their contact info. Be prepared to list at least three previous jobs with address, phone number, and supervisor's name as well as time employed and wage. It will not let you submit the application without a SS#. There is a spot to explain why you don't want any of the employers you have listed to be contacted.

I provided a bogus SS# and explained in this area that I will provide it if I am hired or if it is required for a background check.

Thank you for submitting your application. Please allow up to 2 weeks for us to review your application. If you meet our standards we will send you a follow-up email to: *****@yahoo.com. The email will be addressed from PIremotesurvey@accesspi.picampus.com. If you do not have an email address and you meet our standards, we will call you at ***-***-**** to schedule an interview. Please do not submit multiple applications as this will disqualify your application.

» Legitimate Work From Home Jobs from CallCenterScript
I work from home and I love it.  I interact with my kids and family more and my quality of life is better. However, I know dozens and dozens of people, family and friends that wish they had a legitimate Work... [Read More]

I was called by O'Currance yesterday and have an interview with them on Monday Sept. 11, 2006.

They found me through Utah Workforce Services.

Martha, have you found out any other interesting things about this company yet????

Snooks,

I never heard from them after the application process. Maybe it was because of the bogus SS#. Would you mind letting us know what you find out and if you get the job? Good luck!!

Marta

Marta,

Well todays the day for the interview.
I am presently working another job, outbound sales from the offices of the company I work for. I am not happy with this present job. I've only been there about 7 weeks.

My biggest concern is I haven't worked a lot of inbound, mostly outbound but have 8 years experience on the phone.

I will let you know how it goes. I'm sure there will be a waiting process to find out if I get the job. Working from home in a couple of months is very appealing. Thanks for the support!

snooks

Marta,

I wrote yesterday about O'Currance, but it didn't post. It said something about approval first. I don't remember this happening on this site when I posted before.

How long does it take when you post a comment for it to post on the site????

Thanks Marta,

snooks

p.s. I got the job at O'Currance!! :)

Snooks,

Must have been a glitch but I will find out if there is a delay. Congrats!!! Come back and tell us more soon.

Marta

I can't post. What the heck is going on here?

I think I've figured it out. Even though it says optional on name and email address, it only posts if I fill out these fields.

I'm flusted. I just lost a long post I wrote on O'Currance again!

Marta,

I haven't the time to re-write this minute. It took me about 10 minutes to update you on the company O'Currance. ARGH!

I will let you know later. Thanks for your patience. And let the blog owners know that they need to let the poster know that if they don't fill out the optional fields that their comments won't post.

Thanks

Snooks,

I just forwarded your message to our IT team so they can see what is up and get back to us.

So sorry!!!

Marta (you can email it to me if you'd like for now and I will post it for you)

Marta,

Just FYI >>>>>
I am now working at home for O'Currance.
The company has it problems as any company. But I have been able, so far, to earn as much as $14 plus an hour. I am working part-time...30 hours a week.

so this place works if you work!

snooks

Snooks,

That is awesome. Would you be willing to participate in a little interview? That is good money. Good luck!!

Yes, I am willing to participate in a
little interview. Let me know how and when! :)

Marta,

I decided not to do the interview you sent me. I resigned from O'Currance on the 3rd, this month. Too many company politics, suspected discrimination, and decided it wasn't worth the hassels to work for them any longer. You did worry if their advertising for a job with them was questionable...$40,000 to $50,000 a year. I would say for the most part your worry is well founded. It isn't easy as they change company policy on a continuing basis, and if anyone makes that much, I have not idea who it would be. Maybe back a long time ago in the past. And if anybody does now it is a small handfull and I would suspect it would be people who have already been there at least a couple of years. And started back when the company was perhaps in it's hayday. This company is now experiencing problems for sure with some of their clients, and I question their ethics and integrity.

After 4 months of working for them, and having to show them that I was qualified to work from home due to my sales when they kept telling me I wasn't. Then working from home for one month only to be told I had to come back onsite because I wasn't preforming as well after a brief run loaded with over a week of not loading my computer correctly with their software to constant harassment or micro-managing I decided that working from home under these conditions wasn't a benefit...it turned into a curse!

Oh well, onward and upward to new ventures.

snooks

Well I can understand your position. When integrity isn't present it makes it very difficult to work with any employer. Why don't you try AlpineAccess and see what you think. I am interviewing with them next week and I will tell you more than.

Marta

Hi Marta,

I applied for Alpine Access at least 6 months ago. I made it all the way to the last interview, by phone. After that they told me they decided I wasn't suited for the position.

One area I don't have a lot of experience in it working with 15 to 20 open windows at a time and I feel the lack of that experience hurt my odds of getting hired. I know that as far as my computer knowledge goes I did great but when she specifically asked me, "how many windows are you comfortable on working with at the same time?" I said, "oh, I don't know, maybe 4 to 8."

Wow. I find out later that you should be comfortable with up to 20 windows!

Good Luck with your interview process. A lot of customer service and exceptional sales experience on the phone is not as important as being able to joggle through a lot of windows. So if you have that experience as well you should do just fine.

Good Luck again!

snooks
