Into the West: The Saga Continues

The exciting adventures of Work From Home Momma continue as I receive an email from West Corporation in response to my application to work as an at-home-agent. In the application process I was asked to list the best time for them to call for a telephone interview. The email asked me to narrow it down to 3 days this week.

It also gives the option to call them for an instant interview. If you get a recorder you can leave a message and they will call you back within one business day.

Before I could respond to the email I got a call from the company asking if Monday at 8 am Central Time would work for me. I confirmed and the operator stated I would receive another email reminding me. Each of the three emails I received included the following scripts:

PLEASE PRINT THIS PAGE AND HAVE IT AVAILABLE FOR THE ON-THE-SPOT INTERVIEW.

Version 3
Shopping online offers lots of benefits that you won't find shopping in a store or by mail. With a click of a mouse, it lets you buy airline tickets, book a luxury hotel, send flowers to a friend, or get instant stock market quotations. Quality merchandise, great savings, amazing selection, and unheard of convenience abound on the Internet. Plus, you get the added simplicity of shopping from home. The Internet is always open -- seven days a week, 24 hours a day -- and bargains can be numerous online. While many people are concerned about the safety of on-line shopping, the Internet is no less safe than shopping in a store or by mail, especially when you make your purchases using a credit card. The Internet is an exciting tool that puts vast information at your fingertips. Go ahead, give Internet shopping a try and realize the benefits others have discovered.

I practiced reading each paragraph to get ready for my phone interview. Lucky for me I have a voice like warm chocolate (or congealed chocolate milk, depending on the day I have had!) so I should be able to breeze through this part.

Stay tuned for the further adventures, mishaps, and witty repartee of....da dada da....Work From Home Momma!

Hi I came across your website. And to my surprise you have gone through this. Tomarrow I have an interview with the same people. Im hoping that it works out and not a gimmick.
How did it go for you? Are you doing it?

Michelle

Michelle,

Read the rest of the comments under the blog post entitled Into the West: Certification Complete http://www.workfromhomemomma.com/2005/12/into_the_west_certification_tr_1.html

You can read the comments of those that are working for West right now. I failed my last bit of the training bit so I could report on what happens when you do. They make you wait 6 months before you are allowed to retry it again if you fail so make sure you have plenty of time to take your test. Good luck and let me know how it turns out.
